A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I did it! I finally bit the bullet and got this blog site up and running. I’ve been procrastinating for two years now because of the same old insecurities: who would be interested? Do I have anything new and different to say? I hate attention, etc. etc. So, instead of focusing on those old demons I’m just going to pretend no one but me is reading this stuff 🙂
Sooooo…..even though I’m pretending no one is paying attention I’ll start off with a little about me. First and foremost, I’m the mom of an intellectually disabled young adult. I’ll dive into that story in another post, but suffice it to say that it defines my life and what I do quite a bit. I have been single for 18 (!!) years now. Being single is dramatic all by itself without the added complication of having a special needs kiddo. I have relationship stories galore to share – the good, the bad and the very, very ugly. I share my advice (unsolicited) and and hopefully prevent some of you from making the same mistakes. Or, just be a good listener if you need to share your own stories.
Like a lot of you out there my passions are gardening, cooking and traveling. I will share tips and tricks for gardening & cooking – visual aids, as well as written. Nothing fancy, but super practical and hopefully, helpful. As for traveling, I love to take photos, so I’ll post some past photos, top places to visit, where I want to go next and why, as well as travel mistakes I’ve made.
I also want to write about family, family drama, how being adopted has affected my life and my experience meeting both of my birth parents. So much to talk about here!
That’s a good start for now. I’ll reveal more of myself as I get going with this blog and I get comfortable with how this all works.
Thanks for stopping by!
